EIP Technology

The EIP surface-processing technique is similar to that of DLC technology. However, because EIP technology involves alloying and DLC is film-forming technology, EIP technology is more durable than DLC. In addition, EIP is a relatively simple manufacturing technology, and various alloys are possible depending on individual user needs.

Characteristic feature of EIP technology

By a method similar to EIP punch, metal surface alloy is possible.

EIP technology brings the following properties to the metal surface.

Hardness enhancement Durability enhancement Low coefficient of friction Corrosion resistance

Therefore we understand that EIP technology is effective for products/a part thereof that require the above characteristics.

Hardness examination

Scratching of EIP and non-EIP metal processing at the same power exerts less damage on the former versus the latter.

Coefficient of friction examination

Whereas the coefficient of friction of the EIP technology is about 0.1, that of DLC is 0.2.

Corrosion resistance examination

Corrosion exerted by concentrated hydrochloric acid was not seen on metal (tungsten carbide) with EIP technology.

EIP technology is expected to become the only application in the world in various fields in future. In addition, basic patenting of EIP technology has been applied internationally.
